Guided onboarding

A specialist sets up properties, opening balances, bank accounts and portals with you and checks the numbers before you go live. Add it at sign-up or later.

optional, never required

A first week, roughly

  1. Day 1Bring your data

Import properties, units, tenants, leases and opening balances from a spreadsheet or your old software.

  2. Day 2Connect the money

Link bank accounts through Plaid for the bank feed, and your Stripe account for rent payouts.

  3. Day 3Invite people

Your team with their roles, then tenants and owners to their portals.

  4. Day 5First rent run

Charges post on your schedule, tenants pay in the portal, and payments land on the ledger.

Moving your data in.

Most accounts start from a spreadsheet or an export from other software. Bulk upload takes it from there.

  • Six kinds of records

Properties (one row per unit), units, tenants, leases, owners and vendors, each from its own spreadsheet. A sample file shows the columns.

  • Your column names are fine

Headers like "apt number", "bedrooms" or "lease start date" are matched to the right field, and you can change any match before going on.

  • A dry run first

TenantLoop checks every row and lists the ones it would refuse, with the reason, before anything is saved.

  • All or nothing, and undo

An import saves every row or none of them, and each batch can be undone if it went in wrong.

The Get started checklist

Inside the app, a checklist walks a new account to its first rent run. Steps tick themselves off as your data arrives.

  1. Add your data
  2. Verify your business for online payments
  3. Set late, payment and management fees
  4. Review the rent roll, tenant balances and ownership
  5. Set up the tenant portal
  6. Go live and invite tenants

Help, imports and switching.

How do I reach a person?

Signed in, use Contact support inside the app. Not signed in, write to us from the contact page. Either way it reaches the people who build TenantLoop. We do not offer phone or chat support.

Does it cost anything to move my data in?

No. Imports, the Get started checklist and the guides are free on every plan. Guided onboarding at $149, once, is there if you would rather a specialist did the setup with you.

Can I import what tenants owe today?

Yes, separately from the lease import. Leases come in active with rent starting on the next rent date, so nothing is charged twice for past months, and opening balances bring over what each tenant owes now.

What if an import goes wrong?

The dry run catches most problems before anything is saved. If a batch still went in wrong, undo it from the import history and run it again. Undo waits if other records already depend on that batch, and tells you which ones.

Can I move from another property management system?

Yes. Export properties, tenants, leases, owners and vendors from it as spreadsheets and import them here. The Get started screen walks you through the order.

How do I suggest a feature or report a bug?

Use Share feedback inside the app, or write to us. Tell us what you were trying to do; that helps more than a screenshot of the error alone.
