Move-Out Checklist
Two parts for the end of a tenancy: a cleaning and task list to give tenants before they leave, and a move-out inspection record that compares each room with move-in and notes charges.

Before you use it
- Give tenants the cleaning list when they give notice. A clean, empty home means fewer deductions.
- Inspect with the move-in checklist and photos beside you and compare item by item.
- Separate normal wear and tear from damage before pricing anything.
- The deposit statement deadline usually runs from move-out, so inspect quickly.
How to fill it in
- Underlined spaces are blanks to fill in. The small label says what goes there.
- Shaded boxes mark rules that change by state. Look up the rule where the property is located.
- Delete clauses that do not apply, and add any disclosures your state or city requires.

Move-Out Checklist
Give Part 1 to the tenant when they give notice. Use Part 2 at the final walkthrough, with the move-in checklist and photos beside you, and take new dated photos of every room. Only damage beyond normal wear and tear, unpaid rent and other amounts owed under the lease can be deducted.
